Swarovski will donate 10 percent of sales of its new collection of fashion accessories to a yoga program for survivors of the disease. The classes address the women's specific needs and physical restrictions, while also providing them the opportunity to bond with other women who have had similar experiences.
Called The Libby Ross Foundation's Yoga Program for Breast Cancer Survivors, it's offered free and will be supported in part by the breast cancer awareness collection from Swarovski, the iconic fashion jewelry designer.
According to the American Cancer Society, a woman's chance of developing invasive breast cancer is about 1 in 8, and more than 192,000 new cases of the disease are expected to be diagnosed this year. Initiatives similar to the yoga program can help survivors physically and psychologically, and can be an important key to leading happier, healthier lives.
