Freebie Alert: Free Museum Admissions on Museums Day!

Calling all museum fanatics! On Sept. 25, more than 1,000 museums and cultural institutions nationwide will offer free admission as part of Smithsonian magazine’s sixth annual Museum Day. You can search for participating museums and download the ticket at Smithsonian.com/museumday. Each ticket grants free entry to two people, but the pass is limited to one ticket per household.

While the Smithsonian’s museums in Washington are always free, Museum Day offers savings elsewhere. For example, the $24.95 adult admission for the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco will be waived with a ticket, as will the $15 admission to the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. Other participating museums include the Dallas Museum of Art, in Texas, the Adler Planetarium, in Chicago, and the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle.
