Retail Secrets thinks this is something very good to help out disabled troops and their families.

To honor U.S. military personnel for their service and sacrifice, Homewatch CareGivers, the largest and most experienced international franchise provider of in-home care, is offering up to 20 hours of free in-home care to disabled U.S. military veterans of any conflict—from World War II and Korea to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq—through its “We Care for Veterans” program.

“We know that many family members act as caregivers for returning disabled military, and they are often responsible for childcare as well as elder care,” said Leann Reynolds, president, Homewatch CareGivers. “We hope our donation of in-home care can directly help meet the care needs of veterans or benefits family caregivers by giving them time for themselves or support for their daily duties.”

An estimated 10,000 disabled veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts depend on their parents, who are “boomers” and older, to be their caregivers, according to the Wounded Warrior Project, The Military Family Network and Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes.

Service members can sign up for “We Care for Veterans” now through November, 2008 by visiting www.homewatchcaregivers.com where program details are posted or calling toll-free 1-800-777-9770. The program is available to one veteran per location and is issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Care can be secured for any use that falls within the parameters of each Homewatch CareGivers existing service offering and applicants must be signed up for “We Care for Veterans” by Nov. 30, 2008.
